Marilyn is my Computer. I built it myself, and over the summer of 2004, I decided to mod it. Here is what I did:
I started with a boring, simple case:
and installed a light.
In August, I went up to Massachusetts, where I painted the case.
I started by writing out words on one side, and then doing extremely light coats of red and black on one side.
On the other side, I used Stencils to create the X and then the Mr.
I painted the front and the sides, and took it all home. I cut a hole for the window and installed it all. It looked like this:
But that wasn't the end. The so-called "red" light was in fact pink, and looked horrible. Other problems included the mess of wires inside the case, looking ugly. Also, in order to turn the lights on or off, you had to reach around the back. Not cool. But all these problems were solved. How? Find out in Chapter 2.
